CAPE MOTORSPORTS CONFIRMS DONISON AS FIRST USF2000 DRIVER

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Cape Motorsports is pleased to confirm their first driver in the 2017 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda. Kart racer Rick Donison, a winner of multiple national karting titles in his native country of India, will make his Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires debut at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which will kick off the season in just over two weeks. The 18-year-old will pilot the #2 USF-17 for the multi-time championship winning team, and the entry will be sponsored by JK Tyres.
"We are really excited to have Ricky compete on behalf of our team this year,” offered Dominic and Nicholas Cape. “The tests have gone well, and he has shown great improvement, so we're looking for big things from him."

RICKY DONISON SCORES A HATRICK OF PODIUMS IN UAE F4

As track temperatures refused to recede in Abu Dhabi’s Yes Marina F1 circuit, the new FIA accredited Formula 4 championship has attracted some serious talent. The organizers can only be more than pleased with the kind of action that was witnessed on the track. The inaugural non-championship round of 3 races were held between October 28th and 29th. The championship has seen entries from a bunch of national karting and regional racing series champions from around the world, to make their foray into single seater international F4 racing.
Indian racing rising star Ricky Donison, made what many race experts would call “a dream debut”, as he scored a hatrick of podiums in the 3 races held. The grid included World KFJ karting champion Logan Sargeant from the United States and experienced South African Jonathan Aberdein, who is the winner of ROK world finals last year.

2017 SEASON KICKS OFF WITH SPRING TRAINING IN FLORIDA

Teams and drivers from all three levels of the Mazda Road to Indy presented by Cooper Tires will converge this week at Florida's Homestead-Miami Speedway for the INDYCAR development ladder's official spring training test.
The four-day outing will comprise more than six hours of testing for Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires competitors on the 1.5-mile oval later today, followed by two days of running on the 2.21-mile road course for the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship powered by Mazda, then one final day on the road course for Indy Lights on Thursday.

RICKY DONISON TO COMPETE IN 2017 COOPER TIRES USF2000 CHAMPIONSHIP

Indian driver Ricky Donison has been signed by Cape Motorsports to compete in the 2017 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. The driver will be sponsored by JK Tyre for the entire season. Donison has become the first Indian driver to compete in USF2000 Championship.
For Donison, the big challenge will be adapting to racing single seaters. While he has been crowned national karting champion in the senior class three times, the Indian driver has limited experience racing single seaters, having only competed in the Euro JK cars (the erstwhile Formula BMW machines) in 2016.
